How to leave Beehiiv without losing subscribers
Export your subscribers and posts from Beehiiv, import them into the new platform, connect your custom domain, set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC, redirect old post links, rebuild your welcome email and automations, then test a send before you cancel. Keep Beehiiv live until that first send succeeds.

Eight steps, in order
Export your subscribers and posts.
Download your subscriber list and post archive from Beehiiv. Note the active subscriber count, so you can check it after the import.
Import them into the new platform.
Bring subscribers over with their names and custom fields, then your posts. Match the count to your Beehiiv export, leaving out unsubscribed and bounced addresses.
Connect your custom domain.
Point your domain at the new platform so your newsletter keeps its address.
Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Add the DNS records the new platform gives you, so your emails are authenticated and land in inboxes, not spam.
Redirect old post links.
Add a 301 redirect from every old post URL to its new home, so links you have already shared keep working. Links on a beehiiv.com subdomain can’t be redirected.
Rebuild your welcome email and automations.
Recreate the welcome email and each automation on the new platform, then check that each one triggers.
Test a send.
Send a test to yourself first, then your first real issue. For lists over 10k, send to your most engaged readers first.
Then cancel Beehiiv.
Cancel after your first successful send on the new platform and before your renewal date. Until then, keep Beehiiv live.
